a_{0}(980)>γγ and f_{0}(980)>γγ: a consistent description
Abstract
We work out the Linear Sigma Model (LSM) predictions for the 2γ decay rates of the a_{0}(980), f_{0}(980) mesons under the assumption that they are respectively the I=1 and I=0 members of the q¯q scalar nonet. Agreement with experimental data is achieved provided we include the contribution of a κ meson with mass ~900 MeV, and a scalar mixing angle (σf_{0} mixing in the {NS>,S>} basis) ϕ_{s}~14 deg, as predicted by the model.
