Trapping and reflection of eV deuterium ions by fusion materials
Abstract
The experimental results on the reflection of deuterium with energies of 2.5-30 eV per nucleon from niobium are presented. D 3+ and ArD + ions and various conditions of irradiation were used. Influence of the surface binding energy on the particle reflection coefficient is discussed. The possibility of using the heteronuclear ions in the investigations of the low energy hydrogen reflection and trapping is discussed based on calculations with the binary collision approximation model.
