Results from the EROS Microlensing Survey
Abstract
I will present a status report of the on-going EROS2 survey experiment searching for dark matter in the Galactic halo via microlensing effect of LMC/SMC stars. With an analysis of red clump morphology in the LMC I will refute the claim of the presence of a tidal debris between the LMC and us that could be the origin of the microlensing optical depth. Microlensing surveys provide systematic observations of millions of stars in both magellanic clouds and give birth to very powerfull databases. As an illustration, I will detail the similarity and differences of the Herbig stars in the Magellanic clouds compared to their Galactic counterpart.
