We report the preliminary results of the spectroscopic mapping and surface photometry in broad and narrow band of the central region of NGC 5248, a Liner active galaxy. We describe the whole set of observations performed at Bosque Alegre Astrophysical Station, Casleo and CTIO, and we discuss some of the results obtained. The ionized gas velocity field has mainly circular motions in the central 6'' and suggests a total mass (inner to 400 pc) of 2.1 ± 0.5x109 Msolar. The line flux ratio map, [NII]λ6583 Å / Hα reach the highest values in the circumnuclear ring of HII regions. We are running numerical models of the nebular emission in order to know if this property is due to a higher level of exitation in the ring gas or it is caused by N overabundance.
