Causal Seeds and Structure Formation

Even though O(N) defects are unable to produce acoustic peaks and have very low power on large scales, it is possible to construct models with causal seeds which show peaks and have sufficient power in the dark matter powerspectrum on large scales. I shall describe the predictions from these models and discuss if they can be differentiated from inflationary theories.
