Vortex Solutions of a Fermion MaxwellChernSimons Theory
Abstract
We explain how static multivortex solutions arise in nonlinear field theories, by taking the nonlinear Schrödinger equation coupled to ChernSimons field (JackiwPi model) and a fermion ChernSimons theory as simple examples. We then construct a fermion MaxwellChernSimons theory which has consistent static field equations, and show that it has the same vortex solutions as the JackiwPi model, but gives rise to quite different vortex dynamics.
