The Investigation of Standard Thermodynamic Quantities as Determined via Models of Nuclear Multifragmentation
Abstract
Both simple and complicated models have long been used by the nuclear physics community in an attempt to gain insights into the mechanism responsible nuclear multifragmentation. Several papers have discussed the presence and order of phase transitions in such models. This work examines one type of those models using text book thermodynamics to explore the possible existence of phase transitions in various models. The importance of various terms, e.g. Coulomb and surface, will also be discussed.
