We present a compression algorithm for multichannel radiospectrograph data. This algorithm is the development of a diagnostic method based on a criterion K which is used to conclude that the data, during an observational time period (delta t), include periods of radio burst activity or not. A similar algorithm has been used with success on data from the multichannel radiospectrograph (ARTEMIS-I) in Nancay. In this paper we present a self adaptive method with new possibilities. The program is in a parametric form so as to be used not only on the data of ARTEMIS I, but also at the ones of RSMN (Radiospectrograph of Paris-Meudon Observatory) and ARTEMIS IV (the new multichannel radiospectrograph in Thermopyles). The time period in this algorithm is a variable (set initially to 5 sec). During the execution of the program it can be changed according to the needs (normally 1-5sec). Finally, the criterion can be calculated on all the channels of the radiospectrograph (e.g. 128 channels of ARTEMIS-IV or 32 channels for RSMN) and not only to few channels only as it has been the case up to now. In this presentation, we give some preliminary results of the data from the RSMN and ARTEMIS-IV radiospectrograph.
