Global Abundance of FeO on the Moon: Improved Estimates from Multispectral Imaging and Comparisons with the Lunar Meteorites
Abstract
The Lucey et al. (1995) estimates of global lunar abundance of Fe had its basis in a novel technique for deriving Fe content from spectral data on lunar materials, whose calibration proceeded from laboratory spectra of lunar soils. Attention is presently given to the results of a calibration based solely on the average compositions of the Luna and Apollo landing sites, using full-resolution Clementine data.
