Interferometric observations of a cometary bright-rimmed cloud in IC1396
Abstract
Interferometric observations of a cometary bright-rimmed cloud in IC1396 were made with Nobeyama Millimeter Array (NMA) in the ^13 CO(J=1-0) transition. The blueshifted velocity components, which are two clear tails stretching from the globule head toward the opposite direction of the exciting star of IC1396 and the velocity gradient seems quite consistent with a collapse phase in the recent 2D simulation results of the radiation-driven implosion of the neutral globule illuminated by the UV radiation from the OB stars.
