The RV-variations of γ Coronae Borealis - a frequency analysis.
Abstract
We summarize a longer campaign of spectroscopic observations of the suspected Maia variable star γCrB . Previously published data are complemented by two-longitudinal observations. We investigate 1262 CCD spectra for short-term radial velocity variations. Results show that A0 stars can pulsate with periods quite similar to those of the well-known δ Scu stars. From a frequency analysis of the data we can derive at least three periods with significant contributions to a multiple frequency model. The probable rotational period of the star is in the order of 0.9d, and the observed short-term periods are arranged in a triplet around 0.1d. The observed relation of the frequencies points to the occurrence of rotationally split non-radial pulsations.
