Chemical effects in Cr containing samples measured by the K βK α intensity ratio and the K β energy shift
Abstract
The intensity ratio of Cr K βK α has been measured for various compounds with Cr of different valencies, bombarding thick crystalline samples with 2.5 MeV protons and using a Si(Li) detector. A systematic increase of this ratio with the valency of Cr is observed. It is discussed to which extent the results of this intensity ratio are reproducible or could be affected by attenuation in the sample. A correlated shift to higher mean energy of the K β line is also observed.
