The search for methylisocyanoacetylene in TMC-1.
Abstract
Methylisocyanoacetylene (CH3C2NC), an isomer of methylcyanoacetylene (CH3C3N), has been searched for in the Taurus molecular cloud 1 (TMC-1) with the Effelsberg 100-m radiotelescope using recent laboratory data by Gripp and Guarnieri. The upper limit for CH3C2NC in TMC-1 is determined to be N[CH3C2NC] ≤ 2.4×1012cm-2. This value sets a lower limit to the ratio N[CH3C3N]/ N[CH3C2NC] ≥ 2.1, which is, in fact, calculated to be larger at least by an order of magnitude.
