New observational facts about solar flares from ground-based observations
Abstract
Recent observational studies on solar flares by using ground-based instruments are reviewed. Magnetic field measurements are being carried out in many observatories, and conclusive evidence on the storage of magnetic energy and its release at flares has accumulated. On the other hand it is interesting that some controversial results were reported in regard to the change in magnetic fields associated with flares.
