Magnetic excitations in quasi-one-dimensional hexagonal ABX 3-type antiferromagnets
Abstract
The magnetic excitations of three ABX 3-type quasi-1-D AFs with half-integer spin values are studied. We show that magnetic excitations in S=5/2 systems in the ordered phase at low T are excellently described by the semi-classical linear spin-wave theory. In S=3/2 systems however, non-linear terms due to quantum fluctuations are necessary to understand spin dynamics of the system at low T.
