The New Forward Muon Detector of L3: Features and Implementation
Abstract
Modern time-marking drift chambers comprise the new Forward Muon detector of L3 for LEP 200 physics. They enclose the toroidally magnetized doors of the L3 experiment, forming independently analyzing spectrometers, with resistive plate chambers (RPC) providing the trigger. Design, construction, and first results from actual running are given.
