Transient Thermal Performance of the Stirling Engine Wire Regenerator
Abstract
Analyses of the classic Hausen type are not merely inappropriate to conditions in the Stirling cycle machine - they specifically exclude the case (flushing time of the order of blow time). The paper explains, formulates and solves an appropriate analysis, and presents specimen temperature profiles for gas and matrix. These are shown to differ substantially from the generally accepted picture.
