Studies on (Hg, Tl)-containing superconducting oxides
Abstract
The solid solution Hg xTl 2-xBa 2CaCu 2O 8+δ was partly studied. Synthesized samples were investigated by X-ray powder diffraction, EDS, thermogravimetry and susceptibility measurements. The results indicate that the maximum Hg-content in the samples corresponds to the ratio Hg: Tl∼0.6:1.4 and that the superconducting temperature changed with the synthesis conditions. Tc(onset) was 90 and 85K, respectively, for two different samples.
