Unusual magnetic behavior of CePt 3B
Abstract
Measurements of magnetization, resistivity, susceptibility and specific heat have been performed on the new tetragonal compound CePt 3B. These measurements give evidence for two successive magnetic transitions at 7.8 and 6 K, which we interpret as transitions from paramagnetism to an antiferromagnetic phase and then into a reduced-moment ferromagnetic state.
