The Effect of Turbulence on the Largescale Structure of Radio Jets
Abstract
A compressible k-e turbulence model has been used, in combination with an adaptive grid code, to study the effect of turbulence on the propagation of fluid jets. The results suggest that turbulence reduces the pressure fluctuations in the cocoon and thus makes it easier for such jets to reach the working surface without being disrupted.
