Angular eikonal of an optical surface of rotation of general form
Abstract
The expansion coefficients of an angular eikonal are found all the way to fifth order for an aspherical surface of general form, obtained by rotating a generating curve represented by a series of even and odd powers of the ordinate around the normal to an arbitrary point on the curve. The resulting dependences can serve as a basis for studying evenorder aberrations and for refining thirdorder aberration theory.
