A new crystal modification of MgSO 3 · 3H 2O
Abstract
A new crystal modification of MgSO 3 · 3H 2O was identified, prepared as a pure phase and corresponding X-ray diffraction data determined. This new modification is formed by spontaneous crystallization of a solid-free aqueous solution of magnesium sulphite supersaturated with respect to MgSO 3 · 3H 2O at temperatures exceeding 80°C.
