NPO Energiya details on Block-D/DM comsat stage revealed
Abstract
Nearly complete details on the Proton Block-D/DM have now been made available thanks to the cooperation of NPO Energiya USA. Compounding the commercial problems with interfacing Western payloads with the Proton booster is illustrated by the fact that the Russians has not before answered basic questions on NPO Energiya's Block-D/DM, so creating considerable confusion on the payload interface details. This has also been typical of questions on Proton and other Russian and Ukrainian commerical space boosters which have lain unanswered on the desk of the Russians for over five years. Six questions on the Block-D/DM are answered. Nine questions are listed which space scientists would like answered.
