The Parkes-MIT-NRAO (PMN) Surveys. II. Source Catalog for the Southern Survey (-87 degrees -4pt.5 < delta < -37 degrees )
Abstract
We present a catalog of radio sources discovered at a frequency of 4850 MHz in the southern zone (-87.5^deg^ < δ < -37^deg^) of the Parkes-MIT-NRAO (PMN) survey. This survey covers 2.50 sr and contains 23,277 sources to a flux limit which varies as a function of declination from 20 mJy at the southern survey limit to about 50 mJy at the northern limit. The new survey increases the number of radio sources known in the area surveyed by a factor of 5 over those found by either of the earlier Parkes or Molonglo surveys. We described our data taking and reduction methods for the PMN survey in a previous paper. In this paper we tabulate the sources for the southern survey. Instructions are also given for obtaining the data in machine-readable form. Later papers in the series will list objects for other survey zones and provide analysis of the data.
