Fundamentals of two-fluid dynamics. Pt. I: Mathematical theory and applications
Abstract
The physical foundations and governing equations for the study of two-fluid dynamics are presented. Solutions of equations governing the dynamics of two fluids are not uniquely determined by the boundary data and different configurations of flow are compatible with the same data. Attention is given to the formulation of equations, the nonuniqueness of steady solutions, rotating flows of two liquids, plane channel flows, and the two-layer Benard problem.
