Investigation of a model for predicting separation control with vortex generators
Abstract
A new symmetry-plane model to predict the effectiveness of counter-rotating vortex-generator installations in incompressible flow is presented, and the underlying physics and assumptions of the model are discussed. Calculations are given that predict the effectiveness of vortex generator installations, and comparisons are made with existing experimental data. With a scaling factor applied, good agreement is found between experiment and theory.
