Propagation of strong pressure waves in dissociating and ionizing gases
Abstract
The numerical method of characteristics by Wehle and Gretler (1981) for solving the nonadiabatic explosion problem for ideal gas behavior is extended here to real gases. A diatomic gas is used to illustrate the approach.
