Ultrasonic non-destructive method to determine modulus of elasticity of turbine blades
Abstract
A general nondestructive test method for determining the modulus of elasticity of turbine blades in different directions is discussed. Reliability results of more than 90 percent prove this method very useful for aerospace applications. A schematic diagram showing the position of the acoustic heads installed in the surface of the turbine blades is shown.
