Total inelasticity coefficient in hadron-air interactions at 1-100 PeV from EAS and emulsion chamber data
Abstract
The total number of electrons in EAS and selected sensitive characteristics of gamma-hadron families at the periphery of superfamilies in the Pamir experiment are compared with the corresponding quantities generated by models in which the total inelasticity coefficient in hadron-nucleus interactions increases, decreases, or remains constant. It is shown that the total inelasticity coefficient must increase with energy up to 100 PeV.
