Amplification of multifrequency signals in a gyroresonance traveling wave amplifier
Abstract
The amplification of multifrequency signals in a weakly relativistic gyroresonance traveling wave amplifier is investigated by numerical modeling in the context of nonstationary theory. It is shown that, in an amplifier of this kind with a homogeneous waveguide and a nonprofiled magnetic field, the efficiency of energy exchange is reduced by up to 40 percent in comparison with the single-frequency regime. The power of spurious signals becomes noticeable when the energy conversion efficiency reaches 20 percent, requiring special measures for implementing regimes with high energy characteristics.
