Survey Observations of Emission-Line Stars in the Orion Region. IV. The KISO Areas A-1047 and A-1048
Abstract
We carried out survey observations for Hα emission stars in Kiso areas A-1047 (5(deg}×5({deg)) , centered at alpha = 5() h 20() m, delta = -10(deg) ) and A-1048 (5(deg}×5({deg)) , centered at alpha = 5() h 40() m, delta = -10(deg) ) in a series of our extensive surveys in the Orion region. The observations were made using mainly the Kiso Schmidt telescope, and partly using the CTIO Curtis Schmidt telescope. The numbers of detected Hα emission stars were 36 and 79 for areas A-1047 and A-1048, respectively. Out of them, 33 in A-1047 and 50 in A-1048 are new findings. The celestial coordinates and {V} magnitudes of the detected stars were measured, along with an eye estimation of the Hα emission strengths. The brightness distribution, which is peaked at {V} = 15 for A-1047 and {V} = 16 for A-1048, suggests that the detected Hα -emission stars are probable candidates of T Tauri-type stars. They are distributed rather uniformly in area A-1047, while in area A-1048 they are markedly concentrated along the dark cloud Lynds 1641 in the central northern part. It has been found that the fractional number of Hα -emission stars with a strong emission line is high in area A-1048, while it is very low in area A-1047.
