On calculating the distribution function for estimates of coordinates of television star-image centroids.
The paper deals with an approach which allows to determine the form of probability distribution function of coordinate estimates for an optical star-image centroid when the image is obtained with a solid charge-transfer device. The scope for applying the method of distributed space of estimates is discussed for the case when statistical hypotheses are tested in the conditions of a priori uncertainty of statistical parameters of signals, noise, and sky background.
