Fourier analysis of rotation of the Sun as a star.
Abstract
The possibility is discussed of detection of Carrol's zeros in the power spectrum of the Fraunhofer spectrum of the Sun as a star and effects of the Sun differential rotation on their position. The first Carrol's zero is detected at the frequency 0.368±0.009 s/km in the region of the spectrum of the Sun as a star 1195.2  1214.048 nm, which corresponds to the synodic equatorial rotation velocity 1.71±0.05 km/s in the solidbody approximation and 1.80±0.05 km/s in the case of differential rotation given by the formula Ω(φ) = Ω(0)  αsin^{2}φ with α/Ω(0) = 0.25.
