Reconstruction of the parameters of a pulsed source of gravitational radiation from the response of a global network of solid state detectors
Abstract
The paper is concerned with the inverse problem of reconstructing the position, amplitude, and polarization characteristics of pulsed gravitational radiation from a signal recorded by a global network of solid state resonance gravitation detectors. Various possible statements of the inverse problem are presented, with each statement analyzed for well-posedness. An algorithm for solving the problem is proposed. The signal-to-noise ratios representing the regularization threshold of the problem are estimated numerically. General conclusions are drawn concerning the possibility of the practical measurement of the parameters of cosmic gravitational wave bursts using networks of solid state antennas of current and future generations.
