The method of analogy in solution of the problem on the origin of comets.
Abstract
New statistical effects in the distribution of the orbital elements of shortperiodic comets are ascertained. It is shown that the whole complex of similar effects for shortperiodic comets indicates to their gravitational ejection from the Jovian sphere of action. A total analogy is detected between the statistical effects for shortperiodic comets in ecliptical coordinates and the same effects for longperiodic comets in galactic coordinates. It follows that the longperiodic comets have been ejected from the sphere of action of a hypothetical transplutonian planet moving in the galactic plane.
