The method of analogy in solution of the problem on the origin of comets.
Abstract
New statistical effects in the distribution of the orbital elements of short-periodic comets are ascertained. It is shown that the whole complex of similar effects for short-periodic comets indicates to their gravitational ejection from the Jovian sphere of action. A total analogy is detected between the statistical effects for short-periodic comets in ecliptical coordinates and the same effects for long-periodic comets in galactic coordinates. It follows that the long-periodic comets have been ejected from the sphere of action of a hypothetical trans-plutonian planet moving in the galactic plane.
