A Photometric Analysis of the Eclipsing Cataclysmic Variables AR Cnc, AY PSC (PG 0134+070), and DV UMa (US 943)
Abstract
We present a photometric analysis of three eclipsing cataclysmic variables: AR Cnc, AY Psc (PG 0134+070), and DV UMa (US 943). Orbital and accretion disk sizes, inclinations, and component masses are determined. AR Cnc presents some problems as its likely inclination larger than 80 deg, long orbital period, and observed secondary star spectral type are not all consistent with typical dwarf novae. Our results on the primary masses are consistent with the current belief that longer period cataclysmic variables contain higher mass white dwarfs. We find the sizes of the accretion disks to be typical for cataclysmic variables.
