Liquid-Vapor Critical Point of Fluids in Porous Glasses
The liquid-vapor critical point of fluids confined in porous aerogel glasses was found to remain sharp despite the presence of glass acting as quenched impurities. The equilibrium phase diagram of the confined system remained bulk-like on time scales longer than 100 seconds. However, the dynamics of the system at short time scales displayed behaviors that were totally different from that of a bulk system.
