Pseudoscalar and Vector Meson Production in the Tristan Energy Region
Abstract
Charmed and strange mesons, the D^ {*+} and K_sp{rm s}{0}, have been observed in the TRISTAN energy region; 50 <= sqrt{s} <= 64 GeV in (34.215 +/- 0.130 +/- 0.616) pb^{-1} of multihadronic data collected with the AMY detector. The K_sp{rm s}{0} scaled differential cross section and the total cross sections for each species were measured. sigma_{K{^0},overline K{^0}} = (204 +/- 43 +/- 13) pb, sigma _{D{^{*+}},D{ ^{*-}}} = (53 +/- 23 +/- 3) pb. The mean multiplicity of neutral pseudoscalar kaons in multihadronic events has been measured. < N_ {K{^0}, overline K{^0 }}> = (1.82 +/- 0.38 +/- 0.1) K^0 per hadronic event.
