Flare-Related Relaxation of Magnetic Shear as Observed with the Soft X-Ray Telescope of YOHKOH and with Vector Magnetographs
Abstract
The soft X-ray Telescope of Yohkoh observed an M-class flare on 1992 February 6. As the flare progressed, an initially sheared coronal loop structure was seen to evolve toward a relaxed magnetic configuration. In association with this evolution, the vector magnetograph observations detected a decrease in the electric currents.
