Laser beams with a helical wavefront structure
Abstract
In this study the authors examine the spatial structure of a wavefront of a gas laser radiation by varying the resonator aperture. Results of this study show that for small apertures, excitation of modes with a helical wavefront is possible near threshold. The characteristics of the superposition of right-handed and left-handed helical modes are considered.
