Calculation of the optical scheme of a passive laser gyroscope
Abstract
Calculations are presented for the optical resonator of a laser gyroscope designed to measure variations in earth rotations. The passive square resonator with an arm of 3.1 m consists of two spherical mirrors of the same curvature radius (10 m) and two plane mirrors, one input and the other output. In the analysis presented here, the natural mode parameters of the optical resonator are determined using the ray matrix method.
