Critical current properties and microstructures of Ag-sheathed Bi-based superconducting wires
Abstract
Silver-sheathed Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O (2223) wires were prepared by the powder-in-tube method. It was found that improving Jc(B) also raised H(irr). The Jc improvement is believed to be controlled by the elimination of weak links, high degrees of grain orientation, and the fine dispersion of the nonsuperconducting phase.
