Global variations of f0F2 in the nighttime trough region
Abstract
Intercosmos-19 satellite data are used to develop a global empirical model of the near-midnight winter trough in f0F2 for both hemispheres under quiet conditions of high solar activity. The principal characteristics of the global pattern of longitudinal-latitudinal variations of f0F2 in the trough region are analyzed. The analysis includes longitudinal shapes and positions of the trough minimum.
