An increase in the critical temperature of a two-band superconductor during a topological transition
Abstract
Changes in the critical temperature of a superconductor due to a topological transition are investigated within the framework of a two-band superconductivity model. It is shown that the presence of electrons in the vacant band or the presence of holes in the completely filled band are accompanied by an increase in the superconducting transition temperature. With realistic parameters, the model is capable of describing the nonlinear increase of critical temperature observed in experiments concerned with the effect of impurities on the critical temperature.
