A modified phase space formulation for constrained mechanical systems - Differential approach
Abstract
A particular formulation of the problem of motion of constrained mechanical systems is discussed both from a numerical and a theoretical aspect. The technique, originated in the context of finite elements in time, is extended to a differential equation formulation. Significant examples demonstrate the more relevant numerical properties of this approach.
