High resolution numerical simulation of complex Mach reflection in a tube
Abstract
High resolution upwind schemes for solving the Euler equations were analyzed and employed to simulate Mach reflection in a shock tube. Complex shock configurations including two triple points were captured successfully with 240 x 80 points. The effect of upper tube wall on Mach reflection was also considered. In addition, the interactions of a moving shock on a hemisphere obstacle in an expansion tube were calculated. The range of the moving shock Mach number M, is from 3.85 to 20.62.
