Verification of a Subsample of the ABELL Survey Using X-Ray Data
Abstract
We have used the available x-ray data to investigate systematic errors in a complete subsample of the Abell catalog which has been used in studies of large-scale structure. We find no evidence that this complete subsample has systematic errors in the form of: entries misidentified as rich clusters or grossly misclassified in richness or distance class, and omissions of rich clusters from the complete survey.
