Frequency and volt-ampere characteristics of a corona discharge in gas flow
Abstract
A study is made of the effect of gasdynamic flow on two characteristic features of the corona discharge: its intermittent structure and the anomalous nature of its volt-ampere characteristics at high ambient temperatures. Some aspects of the above phenomena are analyzed theoretically. For a corona discharge in a hot air jet, it is found experimentally that the discharge current is greater than in stationary hot air and that stable luminescence of the entire discharge gap is observed in this case.
