A discretized model for the dynamics of a tethered satellite system and applications
Abstract
A simulation of a tethered satellite system where consideration is given to a discretized model of the cable is presented. The characteristics of a few space discretization procedures are compared within the framework of an analysis of the dynamics of two physically relevant models, namely, the space pendulum and the space string. The study of these limit problems provides a reference point for elucidating other more complex dynamic situations.
