Numerical simulation of 3D confined turbulent jets by finite element method
Abstract
A numerical method to solve the partial differential equations governing turbulent flows is presented. The standard k-epsilon model is used to close the averaged equations. The developed code, NATUR3D, uses the finite element approach to solve complex internal 3D flows. A classical test case is presented concerning the 3D flow generated by a jet discharging from a circular outlet in a cross stream.
